The Edge, at the University of Sheffield is a study, social and dining space. With many students utilising the area, the furniture became dated and not did not meet the modern functionality requirements of the university.

The client desired a multi-purpose versatile space for use by students during term time as well as conference guests outside the academic year, they required design expertise for efficient space planning to create a vibrant area to suit various audiences.

We resolved their challenge by completing a full refurbishment of the area. To begin we consulted with the client on their needs and presented concepts using visuals, floor plans and 3D models to better showcase how furniture would sit within the space. The brief involved provision of furniture which was both stylish and robust to align with the university’s overall look and feel whilst withstanding the use of many audiences for time to come.

Our wooden dining tables achieved and accompanying ribbed leather dining chairs achieved the desired ‘Great Hall’ look whilst our large bookcases and accessories divided up spaces well and gave the room real personality and character.
